I am 15 years old and have been on alot of stupid diets, and recently I lost 8 pounds in a week, mainly due to stress, but my skin hasn't quit shrunk back to its normal position. Is this permanent? if so what can I do to reverse it?would it help if i gained the weight back and then lost it slowly again? by the way I was 9.5 stone to begin with.

No. You are far too young to be dieting, crash or otherwise unless you are obese and then your doctor will sort you out. Get yourself to your local gym. Speak to the trainer there. Tell him/her about your saggy skin and what you did to get it like that and ask for advice regarding which equipment to use to firm the skin up again. The trainer will write you a training programme to suit your age and development. If you stick with it you will find you don't need to crash diet as you will naturally lose weight without "saggy" skin developing. Good luck.

hey,

this disturbs me that a 15 yr old has to diet never mind crash diet
2-3lbs weight loss a week is perfectly acceptable...what did you do eat air?

if you want the body you have always dreamt of then .....
its time you did things the right way..forget every diet you ever did and start with being normal your a kid that's turned in to a
teenager soon to be a women
eat your three meals a day OK.....
WITH
10 GLASSES OF WATER .....that's minimum in fact that's an order
7 PIECES OF FRUIT
7 PIECES OF VEG
DO YOU EAT MEAT?....then it should be a portion the size of your FIST..if your not a meat eater then find out what food is high in protein eggs, baked beans, peanut butter...
etc
PLUS YOUR CARBS,rice, pasta what you like

IF YOU MUST SNACK......then let it be with extra fruit, some nuts ,seeds that kinda thing

the water stops us from over eating not just cleansing your whole body

NOW YOU GOT THE EATING SORTED
2 weeks down the line you start exercising
your a bit young to be starting weights, as your bones are still growing we dont want to do you any damage

BUT
swimming, skipping ....the way the BOXERS DO, some jogging.....
will change your life....eating and exercising is the way to go
dont miss any MEALS,

AS FOR THE SKIN ......YOUR YOUNG
you may even get away with it, the skin may shrink back, if you keep taking the short cuts in life... this is what happens you'll end up with all this baggy skin and stretch marks to boot.
good luck and best wishes

It doesn't sound like you were overweight very much to begin with at such a young age the elasticity of the skin will be really good ! I've had two kids, I'm 40 + and I yo-yo from 8 stone to 9 and a half from month to month. I'm pretty okay in a bikini ! don't worry about it, try to lose it really slow if you can though. It's big weight losses later in life you need worry about ! Try just sticking to a healthy diet but exercising more to tone the affected areas.

your 15 years old.are you OK? do suffer from an eating disorder. to lose 8 pounds in aweek is alot.swetpea.your skin may-not shrink back young or not. crash diets any form dieting is soooo bad. diet 24/7 messes up your body and your brain. what i mean constant dieting sends messages to your brain from your body to work harder it certain areas. you're body /skin /organs will feel + look tired. and will take ages to recover. and it will age you. go to your GP ask to see a dietitian on the nhs who will advice you on how to gain the weight correctly at the pace for your age and lifestyle, also how to maintain a healthy diet with out gaining any more weight once you have reached your correct/comfortable weight.please do not worry the dietitian will not judge you ,they see girls and boys like yourself all time.you want to be a young healthy female with a good body good skin. this can only be done with good food with the odd choc snack flung in. there is a saying "food and medice are the same orgin" good /healthy food is a staple for a healthy life and body. and exercise which will help your skin.

skin is elastic to a certain extent. Some people's skin can stretch and return much more than others, as shown by some women who can have five kids and look like theyve had none, but others have one child and have stretch marks and permanently stretched abdominal skin. Its really up to your genes, not fancy lotions and creams. If you keep yo-yo dieting, your skin is under extra pressure and you will end up with loose skin which won't go back to it's original position. You can't reverse it. Losing weight slowly works better, but again when you've lost and gained weight repeatedly, it will still lose its elasticity.

depends on age- to get an indication of your skins elasticiy, pinch the skin on the back of your hand, the rate at which it pings back shows how likely you are to be looking into a skin tuck after a crash diet.

Generally your elasticiy lessen after you hit 30, but if you worship the sun and age your skin...you only have yourself to blame.

Do you actually loose any weight on a crash diet? doesnt it all just pile back on two days later?- if it does its cellulite you wanna be worring about not excess skin !!
(-a sure way to get cellulite is through repeatedly loosing and gaining lots of weight)

Because you're so young the skin will still be very elastic and can cope with a certain amount of stretching and shrinking. You will be left with permanent stretch marks though if you continue to yo-yo up and down with your weight. Also, the older you get, the less elastic your skin becomes and you end up with folds of loose skin. Nothing but surgery can get rid of this.

First at your age you should not diet. Eat healthily and don't over eat yes.
It will shrink but could leave marks like a lot of visible veins. These are the stretch marks.
If you eat properly then your weight might fluctuate but will keep pace with your growth. Then you will not get these marks.
Stretch marks will be there for life so avoid them.

Take time once a 1 week to plan out and go shopping for meals and snacks so you are prepared whenever hunger strikes.
