Without question, the United States has the highest serial killer rate. During the last 30 years, the US rate has risen by 940%.
Not only are serial killers appearing in greater numbers in the US but all over the world, countries are terrorized by serial killers.
(While Iraq has experienced numerous murders, they do not fit the definition of serial killings.)
But it must be acknowledged that the USA is especially concerned. This country has only 6% of the world's population, yet it records 75% of all serial killings.

Any answer would be speculation because I don't know the crime rates of other countries.
As for some sensational serial killers, I would say the US has a lot of them.

I have to agree with Michael. I don't know why we have some many serial killers in the U.S. (maybe something in the gene pool, who knows?)
