You believe in the Bible. That's great, there is a lot of "stuff" in the Bible. In the 4th centurie (roughly) there was a HUGE debate over whther or not the Trinity should be incorporated into Christianity; even to the point of killing. In the end, Trinity prevailed and "normal Christianity" for the time was abolished. How do you KNOW that the original Christianity was not the correct one? Weren't they the ones closest to God? What if...what if the Trinity was a made up doctrine that has lead MILLIONS astray? I find no problem with the bible in light of these verses. You can't explain ALL of them:

2. DEUTERONOMY 6:4 — Hear, O Israel: The LORD thy God is one LORD. [Note in Mark 12:28-34 how Jesus and a Jewish scribe he encountered understood this text.]

jeesh don't get angry at me; it's your Bible and how can you say all these verses are out of context or misunderstood? How would you expect someone to convert if they can't even understand the basic principle?

You need to get off your axe to grind. Jesus said there was a father, and him and the holy ghost. If there were not 3 who was jesus praying too.? Jesus said I and the father are One. So the 2 are one. Then in John he promised the Holy Sprit. Its a spritual thing. You are misconstruing Dueteronomy. They are 3 but one. I don't really understand, but they aren't like physical things they are spiritual.
Well since you are muslim, why do you kill americans and Jews to gain your place in heaven? I just noticed your muslim statement.

Christianity has its roots in not only Israelite religion, but also in greco-roman philosophy--that's where you find the roots of the trinity.
The one-ness of God, in fact, was something that evolved over the course of history. If you look at the Hebrew Bible, esp in some of the Psalms, you'll find hints that perhaps the ancient Israelites believed that there WERE many gods, but that they must pledge allegience to THEIR god. It's likely that the idea that there was ONLY one God in charge of all history didn't develop until around the writing of the later part of Isaiah, during the exile and return.
The trinity is an interesting phenomenon--you're right, it's not biblical, but it's a formula that balances monotheism and the experience of Jesus and the holy spirit held by the early church--and expresses the paradox of the situation. At the end of the day, not everything Christian IS biblical. The question to ask, then, is--does that matter?

The True teachings of the Apostles was lost in history, due to what the Catholic Church did, They say for a priest not to marry, & they claim they are following Peter, Thy don't understand that Peter was a married man, & Peter was NOT a pope, He was an Apostle, In around 312 AD The Catholic Church had many doctrines of the Truth change to that of a lie, From about 500 AD to About 1500 AD the Catholic Chruch had many Chrisitans Killed in the Name of Catholism, That is also known as the Dark ages, or satan's Millennium, Then Martin Luther A Priest that God began to deal with brought out THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH, So the Times of the True Apostles that was the true teachings, But at the end time it shall be the same as the first, Eph. 4:11-15 Tell you about a 5-fold ministry that is to Perfect the Bride of Christ.

Consider who you're asking here, friend. No smearing to Yahoo, but people who frequent this forum are either blissfully devout thumpers or embarassingly naive followers. One half has no idea about the origins of the bible, books that were cut and doctorine concepts which were contested; and the other half has composed its own make believe truth about the supreme righteousness of one thing versus another.
The bible is flawed from book one, litterally. Genesis itself was not one old testament (jewish) text, but the combination of three different-yet-similiar creation stories that were reconciled by Jewish kings well before the creation of a christian bible.
There is no answer of which bible version brings you closest to god because they're all pieces of a larger puzzle that was willfully thrown out to avoid debate.

By the 4th century, a lot of false teachings were gaining prominence. A lot of this was due to the merging of Christianity and paganism. Many original truths were questioned during this time.
The council of Nicea came together to resolve arguments and issues that came about because of false doctrine. One being, that Arius, a Bishop, questioned the word "begotten" and that Christ was created and not eternal. The Council came out against Arius overwhelmingly.
This does not mean that many of the original teachings were lost but were affirmed.

Gospel According to Saint Luke
Chapter 8
5 The sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And other some fell upon a rock: and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7 And other some fell among thorns, and the thorns growing up with it, choked it. 8 And other some fell upon good ground; and being sprung up, yielded fruit a hundredfold. Saying these things, he cried out: He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him what this parable might be. 10 To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing may not understand.
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 And they by the way side are they that hear; then the devil cometh, and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing they should be saved. 13 Now they upon the rock, are they who when they hear, receive the word with joy: and these have no roots; for they believe for a while, and in time of temptation, they fall away. 14 And that which fell among thorns, are they who have heard, and going their way, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit. 15 But that on the good ground, are they who in a good and perfect heart, hearing the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit in patience.

If God is 3 persons in 1 or 1 person with 3 positions, the main thing is to get a personal relation with Him, and let Him lead you into all truths.

The father, the son, and the holy ghost are seperate entities. When Joseph Smith recieved his vision his record states he saw 2 figures descend from the heavens clothed in white in indescribable brilliance. One figure said unto him, pointing at the second, this is my son, hear him. While the father the son and the holy ghost are all one in purpose, they are actually seperate entities. All those books were written before Jesus came. Motombo say Jesus was new covenant, and even hint at trinity when he say "I and Father are one". That is why he was accused of blasphemy

In Jesus dwells ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col.2:9 below) -
oGod the Father
oThe Holy Spirit of God the Father
oThe Word of God the Father
The only begotten son of God the Father (Jn.1:14 below), Jesus (the Word - Jn.1:1, Jn.1:14 below), His beloved Son (Matt.3:17 below), was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matt.1:20 below).
It is God the Father who conceived in Mary (blessed among women) His very Word through His very Holy Spirit (Matt.1:20 below).
Col.2:9 For in him dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Jn.1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, (Matt.1:20, Matt.3:17 below)) full of grace and truth.
Jn.1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (Re.1:6, Lk.1:47 below).
Re.1:6And hath made us kings and priests unto God (Jn.1:1 above) AND his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Lk.1:47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour (Jn.1:14, Jn.1:1, Re.1:6 above).
Lk.1:68 Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
Matt.3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son (Matt.1:20 below), in whom I am well pleased.
Matt.1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying,
Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost (Jn.1:14, Matt.3:17 above).
