Did you mean Qingdao? It was a beautiful city before 1949 when German were there...I bet it is still very attractive to most travelers...I was there in 1973. They had a lots of seafood, and people there were very friendly...when I was there, the food supplies were very poor, but pretty of Qingdao Beer! The beach was gorgeous, it didn't have too many people over there due to economics was bad...everybody was busy working for a little money for food.

I remembered the one bowl of QD beer was only RMB 0.05 but an order of egg friend rice cost us RMB 0.90! The spring water from LaoShan was so sweet and clear...which makes QD beer tastes so good!!!

Right now? I can't tell you too much...but I can certainly tell you this city won't be the same anymore...High rising buildings, shopping malls, etc...too commercial look...I can't imaging the beaches will fill up a lot of people and trash all over the places...Oh, I don't even want to think that way as most of traveler's spots in China...

I assume you are talking about Qingdao, home of my favourite Chinese beer, Tsingtao! If so, it is really a beautiful seaside city on the southern coast of the Shandong Peninsula bordering on the Yellow Sea and the Jiaozhou Bay. The geography is of undulating hills with luxuriantly green trees which contrast with the blue of the sea. The climate is quite nice too, mild in summer rarely above 25 C, and cool in winter, never lower than 0 C.
