In the evening when I come home I am really tired and just need to lie down a couple of hours. After, I am still fatigued. How can I overcome this and get myself to the gym?

If this continues, go to see a doctor and get fully checked out. It could be the sign of something more serious.

I used to come home from college and crash on the sofa for hours and still be tired. Turns out I had a brain tumour, so you never know.

First thing make sure you eat breakfast(something with protien), if I don't I drag all day. If you can you should go to the gym before work, it's easier to burn fat that way. If you can't then I would suggest not even going home in between work and gym, then you don't give yourself the option to lie down. I know that if I lay down or take a nap for too long, I'm more tired.

go home after work, eat a small 100-200 cal snack give your self about 30-40 mins and head to the gym, do some cardio.

it worked for me, all i wanted to do after work (7-5 shift) was go home eat a bigOmeal sit on the couch and veg out. I got tired of the belly so i started going to the gym for a evening boost and it totally gave me the energy and a great feeling for the rest of the evening.

hope it helps!!

I am not sure about a drink, but I know that having an apple in the morning has more of an eye opening effect than coffee or tea without the caffeine let down! Many Blessings!

You need more water. Instant energy.
Dehydration sets in before you know it. Take my word.
Slow down long enough to stop at the water fountain OR take water to work with you.
I LOVE WATER!!!
