Daycare is expensive because of all the liability insurance and licensing fees they have to pay: these people take a big risk to offer you service. This is what we get for being such a litigious society here in the US. Also, you want your children to have good care and that costs money. Having nutritious food, good toys and keeping the place clean and safe with all the children around is not an easily task.
If you are going to college perhaps your college has a daycare: a lot of colleges do now and usually it is less expensive than regular daycare because the students volunteer their time and also sometimes get credit for time spent caring for the kids.
Sometimes there are daycare centers in workplaces; a lot of really forward thinking employers will establish daycare centers to attract good employees.

Day care is expensive because it is a necessity in today's society. It is all about supply and demand. The daycare providers can charge what ever they like because mothers (parents) have no choice but to pay. There children have to be cared for and they have to work.
The worst part is that most of the time a single parent is working just to pay daycare. There is no money for the other expenses and necessity's.

OK, for i start i maust add that this "
it is terrible. in europe, most countries pay women to stay home with their children. i ask my congressional delegation to help america go this way - about once a month I call.
day care is very harmful to children, so it makes sense for taxes to go to mothering rather than substitutes. but in america, the people in power hate families, so little money will go to moms or kids.
If your kids still need the care of others to stay safe, they are too young for you to be gone so much. Stop college and you will save on some money. They need you. Leaving them so often is not giving them the best life possible. " is the wort advice i have ever seen!
OK, if you are at college there should be a student support service some where, along with careers advice etc, go there and ask them for some help.
They may be able to tell you where to get cheaper day care.
Also see if it is possible toy get your work to set up day care, if so many people have children i am sure that they may be able to provide some.
Explain to them how it means being able to employ a wider varity of people, as well as being good PR.
Make sure that you are getting all the help you can, go to job centers etc tax credits.
People won't give you the help, i found out a long time ago that they help you need you will have to find for yourself, it is out there but you will have to do some research.
Use every single option open to you.
Don't give up on school, it will give you a better life, and be proud, there are so many people that would just not bother.
Chin up an keep trying, the world needs more mothers like you.

They have to pay the people watching the children, insurance etc. You must be able to get some help paying for child care. If they are preschoolers look into Head Start, they offer free preschool if you are under a certain income. If you do not qualify for that they might be able to point you in a direction to help pay for some child care costs. Call around "home day cares" tend to be less expensive then one in a center.

Your daycare provider has to make a living also, plus pay her bills associated with the day care( food, rent, extra staff) Have you checked on subsidized daycare that will help with the cost or at the college if they have child care. If they are in school there are alot of after school programs and the one where I work is grant funded so it is a free program for them to attend from 2:45-5:45 mon-Friday. Keep looking and good luck

The providers of daycare know they are providing a needed service and charge up to the hilt because they can get it. What can you do? So you pay. Crud, it's almost like being fined for working!

Why is it the government's fault that you chose to be a single, uneducated mother of three children?
Of course taking care of and raising children is expensive! I wouldn't want the people who take care of my children all day to be underpaid (as they are) for what they do. They are raising YOUR children all day! Appreciate the work they do for YOU and YOUR children.

why can't you get help? you should be able to. There are so many children in the world, and people make a profit off of the that, by saying he lets charge the people more than they have to spend on the actual child a year and get paid loads of moolah. Like hey lets pay congress and the senate to make decisions for us when we as a community can do it ourselves
