If you are a responsible person she may listen to reason if it is not for other reasons like financially she can't afford it now.
One good thing to share with her is that in today's world many emergencies arises at the schools now days. And it's not so far fetched for children to have a cell phone on them at school with all the crazys out there doing their thing.

She already said yes.
But I bet if you harrass her enough you could get her to say NO.
You can't lose cell phones. Where's your bus pass? Where's your homework? Where's your agenda? Do you put things in their places? Show your mom you can be responisible with the things you already have. Then she may move the timeline up a little.

Grow up and act more mature. Start cleaning the house with out being asked. Do the dishes with out being told. Help around the house. If you want a cell phone gotta earn it.

That's a shame I got my son a cell phone when he was in 6th grade.I mainly got it for me,so I can get a hold of him anytime. When he is skate boarding ,walking, etc.Give it time you will get a phone. It might help let her get you a prepaid phone. Then she wont have to worry about a bill.Net 10 is a good prepaid phone service.U only have to buy 300 mins every 60 days.(30 dollars every 2 months)to keep it activated.

Try to compromise with her. Tell her you'd only use it in case of emergencies, or something. Don't whine or beg, that pisses parents off. And do not say "But all my friends have them!" or something like that. Good luck =)
