My boyfriend has a lady friend that he's known for almost seven years and he says that she is the most incredible person in the entire world, which he says that means she is far too smart to have to much to do with him.
What exactly does that mean, does it mean that it is because that me and him are dating and that he is not good enough for her? Or what?

Um...it sounds like he is a little more into his lady friend than you think.

He LIKES her, and he feels that she is way too good for him. This is a bad thing...he is not just a friend...She may think that it is just friendship (and I know that the first initial reaction you have is going to be to want to kill her) but it is not her fault. She is obviously giving him the vibe that all she wants is friendship (hints thats why he thinks that she is too good for him). He right now, is more attracted to her than he is you. Get out of this relationship and let him try to be with someone that is "too good for him". Because she won't want to have anything to do with him, then the "incredibleness" of her will fade away and he will realize what he lost and come running back to you.

To look at it from a different perspective than the other answers:

Maybe she really is an incredible person, but is not someone that he is not physically attracted to, but greatly admires. He just says "She is too smart to have much to do with me" to try and alleviate your jealousy. What he said just didn't work...

Though he says she's far too smart to have much to do with him she has been friends with him for 7 years. Sounds like he wishes she would have more to do with him otherwise he wouldn't have her on such a pedestal. I'd start to take a close look at how much of a relationship you have with him if he's telling you that.

To me, it sounds like he has faults, she knows those faults and has passed on the opportunity to be with him. I think this is completely independent of you and your gain is her loss.

In his eyes that just MAYbe how he feels...... he was in idiot to tell you this btw. If you decided to leave him over some s-h-i-t like that I would toootally understand.....NOBODY wants to feel like their the runner up prize.
