If you do good works with a motive of reward, yes it is a sin.

We do it all the time. For example, we shouldn't be working on holly days, Sundays, Xmas, etc. So what do you say if I have to work this Sunday? I'm a doctor. Should I wait with an emergency surgery till Monday morning? Of course not, so I'm doing good by saving people's lives. By on my way there, I sin. And I'm aware of it. What should I do? Ignore the Ten Commandments or try to repeal them? Or change them? Write to the Pope? Don't know German. Anybody with German skills could you help?

"tricky" :) your "work" could be "right" but your motive could be wrong so therefore it would be "sin". Also, by the deeds of the law shall no man be justified. (Rom 3:20) but that does not mean that all deeds are sin. It just means that our works are not good enough to get us into heaven. Only the blood of Jesus is what will get us there and we have to accept that gift or it just sits there still wrapped and doing us no good.

Our good works are stained with sin because we are sinners so they can only be accepted through Christ. If we bless God with our mouth it is the same mouth that at another time complains or calls someone stupid so all we do must be sanctified by Christ.

No.

Are you concerned about original sin? Or the verse that says "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"?

You need Water Baptism to cleanse yourself from original sin. By accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savoir you are free from sin and need only go to Him when you sin again to get back in a state of grace.

Only GOD and you,....know what your sin are,....no other!!
Good work,..never be a sin,....as long as:
1 You worship GOD(for Christians The Father,The Son,.and The Holy Spirit)

2.love other like ur self(dont do harm to other,..phisically or mentally)

3.Being fair to other,..and follow ur good voice in ur heart(conscience)

Then....u r free of sin...

Hinduism says one should not do anything with expectation in -return. IT would defnetly a good if you do without any expectataion, but I dont think it would be sin if you do with expectatation, it might only be no good. I myself dont worry a lot with it, until i feel that these small leads to a big sin.

Everything I'll ever do, everywhere I'll ever go, it's a sin//

Guess believing the illusion of ego-mind makes it so, as long as we are here we are "married to the world".. Freeing yourself of the tie with the ego-mind and the illusion it holds us in is pretty tricky.. Still a hard one getting out of it while in it.. wonder at times how to pull out..Getting there.. (compu does not help)//

You can use good works to thin the veil of illusion as long as you do not feed your ego with them again and realize it is illusion// The main problem with many is that they feel their ego-mind can go to heaven, that is not the case...

Depends on why you're doing it. If you're doing it to make yourself look good, and its all about what other people think, then yeah, that would be a sin.

Faith without works is dead- James 2:14

Therefore when you are doing good works, just to please yourself it is dead- and that is not of God. But doing works out of FAITH in Jesus Christ and love for the Lord, is what we are to be doing...

But doing a good work does not get you into heaven. It is believing in Jesus Christ and what he did for you on the cross- Trusting in HIM alone~

Ephesians 2:8 "It is by Grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, but it is the GIFT of God- so that no one should boast"
