and became severly brain damaged....Now, you have not seen this PERSON in 10 years...anyway, you ran into her at the store...THIS PERSON loves to gossip...and you know it...she say...oh Hi!!!..i say Hi...she says how are you? you say ...just fine...Before you know it , she says...."How so and so doing?"....Now mind you years ago when the accident happened she did not send a card or flowers......so SHE REALLY DOESN'T CARE, it is just gossip to tell on her part....without being RUDE can i just say..."oh, i am sorry, but we do not talk about him or that painful time anymore"....and just walk away!!! (Do you think she would get the hint that she SHOULD NOT HAVE EVER BROUGHT HIM UP BECAUSE IT WAS VERY PAINFUL??? BELIEVE ME, she TELLS!!! i am not a friend of hers...but she will ACT friendly to me!!!

I think she would get the hint if you say what you're planning to. If she's not really a friend, I would have to say to her, "Why do you ask?" and see what her response is. I think it would kind of leave her dumbstruck if she was truly just trying to get gossip out of you because most gossips really don't think they are.

Or you could say something like, "He's the same, thanks for asking...and thanks for the beautiful card & flowers you sent at that horrible time in our lives. Your support meant a lot to us". Then she might realize that she's really just a non-supportive hanger on.

When I meet someone like this I tell them something that I know they will spread around, but I make sure it's only something that will lead back to them when others find out what this person is like, it's funny to watch people when the Sh** hits the fan, right back at them.

Good luck

wow, you have a lot of resentment built up with this person! i would think that you could say to her that you really do not care to discuss this with her. have a nice day, and walk away. don't let anger consume your life hun, let it go, and raise yourself above it.

Well, just because she's rude, don't put yourself on her level! Just be polite in whatever you choose to tell her. It's people like that, that make us normal!
