The only thing you can do is take her to the vet. If she has diarrhea she can get dehydrated and that will only make things worse! The vet is also the only place that you will be able to get medication to rid her of the worms she has. There are several different parasites that animals can get so it depends on what kind of worm it is what medication she'll need to get rid of them. If the worms look like little sesame seeds or grains of rice then those are most likely tapeworms. Animals get them by ingesting a flea that is carrying the parasite. It's a simple treatment to get rid of them, and you'll need to keep her on flea protection to prevent her from getting them again. If the worms are longer, more spaghetti looking then they are probably roundworms. The other parasites that she may have are microscopic so you wouldn't be able to see them with the naked eye. If you aren't actually seeing any worms it could also be a bacterial infection causing the diarrhea. Regardless, get her to the vet as soon as you can so that she can get the care she needs to be happy & healthy again. Good luck!

ok, the worms can cuz the diarrhea, First off what do the worms look like? Spegetti or rice? How old is ur cat?
It is best to see the vet for a full check up. They do have worming products @ the store but I really wouldn't put much faith in them.
But this is something that shouldn't be left untreated.
Take Care

Get worming medication from your vet. Usually about a dollar a pill. Safer and more effective than what you buy in a pet department. Once the worms are gone the diarrhea should stop

Revolution is a good brand it is a drop that gos between their front sholders it treats them for worms, paracites, fleas and ear mites and other things. Otherwise, you can go to wal-mart and pick up some Hartz wormer but I don't think that will treat paracites. The best bet is to get a oral wormer from the vet. From my vet the wormer costs 10.00 and treats 100%. Petco has some oral wormer also. For the diarria take a oral chewable TABLET pepto bismouth and for a kitten a small chunk like the size of this Q and crush it in some milk or something it wont object to eating. If the next bowel is still runny do it again. for a cat twice the size of that Q and samething I do it all the time for my cats whenever they get a upset stomach. It won't harm them and it works great. I don't know why I am getting such a low rating but please atleast give it some pepto so it will get some relief! I have had tons of cats in my life and currently own 4. They are all indoor cats and all healthy as can be!

Diarrhea in any animal can be dangerous. I would treat the diarrhea before I tried to get rid of the worms. After the diarrhea has been solved, you can either go to your vet and get some medication, or go to your local Co-op and get some cow dewormer. You will want to give about 1 CC per 20 pounds. So if your cat is 10lbs you will want to give .50 cc of the medication. Please email me if you have any questions.

The CORRECT answer is to take the cat to a vet and have her checked out...over the counter dewormers are usually more for prevention than treatment. And I won't even dignify the "feed her a cigarette" comment. Take her to a vet ASAP; if left untreated, worms could cause severe illness and death. Good Luck

You can buy a dewormer at Petsmart. Stay away from cheap brands such as Hartz. Sounds like she has something serious and I recommend taking her to the Vet and they can run a fecal test and give her the proper medication. Worms, if not dealt with, can get into the heart and cause death. Most dewormers only cover basic worms such as round worm so if its tapeworm or heartworm, you need her looked at ASAP. especially if she starts vomitting.

this is common especially if your cat is free to go out and it might have eaten some spoilt food . dont worry. if your cat has worms ie if u find worms in her stool or if is rubbing her anus on the floor then you can give some worm medication. do not give cow medicines they are too strong and can kill ur poor cat. some are readly avilable for pets or the best is albandazol syrup (chemical name ) avilable in both tablet and syrup form , syrup is easy to give... 1 teaspoon 2 times in a gap of 4 to 6 hrs would do . if diarrhea still continues give her a tablet of lopramide hcl every 12 hrs till it stops...and keep your cat hydrated adn indoors for a few days
