If you are looking for temples in Thailand, it is wondrous and easy.. They are just about everywhere. I have enjoyed finding very unusual ones in unsought locations.. You never know when or where you might turn a corner and see something that is on no tourist map yet spectacular.. I live in a small village in Central Thai and in my village there is one large old temple, one smaller one on top of a hill, a Buddhist Hermitage tucked back in the woods amidst large boulders and nearby, a 30 minute long boat ride up river is a beautiful little temple on an island in the middle of the river - the surroundings are mtns and the feeling is distant and forgotten - - timeless - and at all these places, the monks are friendly and welcoming.. just wander and enjoy - and get outside of bkk and CM if you can..
