Until a scientist can grow a tree in their lab with out the assistance of nature, I'll believe it. Otherwise, I believe God is the creator of all living things including the earth and the universe.

Concerning the debate going on about intelligent design and evolution: is it possible that the final answer about which of these two seemingly opposite ideas is correct could simply be yes?

With one position firmly held by the believers and the other just as fearlessly defended by the non-believers, if you happen to be in a position somewhere near the middle, it does not look all that complex. From this position, you wonder why either-or has to be the answer.

If you believe that some higher being created the universe by intelligent design, what more elegant and intelligent design could there have been than a self-regulating system that continually checks its own errors and makes its own corrections in mid-stream as an integral part of the process.

This all seems quite logical to me although it probably won’t satisfy the believers because they are afraid to see any truth other than the one they have been told to believe in. Inversely it certainly won’t satisfy the non-believers because it leaves them stuck with a god that they are so obviously terrified of.

To sum up this view from the center, it might be most easily be explained by saying perhaps the designer was intelligent. Problem is, the designer was likely so intelligent that those seeking to prove that it is intelligently designed may be incapable of ever understand it well enough to see it for the elegant self regulating design that it has always been.

The nonbelievers will be similarly handicapped due to the internal terror the have about the idea that there may be a God. Neither side being able to leave their entrenched position for fear they may have to admit they were wrong. While the rest of us stand by trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. Personally I don’t think anyone is wrong, I just feel both sides are about half right.

The Bible is filled with many beautiful stories. Some attempt to be factual, others are metaphors, and some are meant to be metaphysical. The Creation story is an attempt to give meaning to the question, how did it all begin? It is really quite an extraordinary attempt and worthy of consideration for its ideas. Science does not attempt to explain, but rather to observe and try to understand. With strict standards to follow, and serious review necessary, scientists must make every effort to be accurate. The Bible story is attempt at meaning, Science is looking for facts. So the bible cannot be scientific, and science can't do theology.

The origin of the earth was not a random act. This is shown because we have natural laws which always apply, regardless of time of day or weather, etc. Here is an example:

Gravity - Take a small object and drop it on your floor. Notice the room temperature. Now go outside with the same object. Even in January in a freezing cold blizzard, the Law of Gravity will still apply. When you let go of the object, it will still fall. In a random world, this would not always happen exactly the same way.

Weight - Things always remain the same weight, regardless of where on earth they are weighed. You can weigh an object at sea level, below sea level or high up in the mountains above sea level. The object will always weigh the same, in all weather conditions and times of day.

Air Pressure - Pressure remains constant at a given height above sea level. With an increase in altitude (height), the air pressure decreases at a constant rate.

Aerodynamics - When a bird spreads its wings it always flies, regardless of time of day or weather. However, when a bumblebee spreads its wings to fly, it always flies as well, but the laws of aerodynamics say a bumblebee should not be able to fly. The bee always flies though, regardless of man's understanding of God's laws.

God Bless!

Islam is the only religion that has both FAITH an PROOF.

41:9-10 The ``days'' of creation represent a yardstick. Thus, the physical universe was created in two days, while the calculation of provisions for all the creatures on earth required four. This also teaches us that there is life only on this planet Earth.

You're supposing that the two are completely distinct.

I have faith that the one true God created the universe (which of course includes the Earth).

I believe that science is able to speculate on the creation process (eg, the "big bang" theory) and even measure some of the events of the process (distance between stars, etc).

I think humans have a need to believe in something. If we knew for sure that this is all there is,then we as a species would lose the hope of eternal life. That having been said I think that all the
the believers in the world create a supreme being just through their faith. So I believe in religious origins

since there is no concrete proof of earths origin scientifically people do believe in scriptures. but people do forget the fact that the sciptures themselve were the creation of men and not the god.

science too can't prove anything because it can't create an earth itself to prove the way that the earth originated.

now u decide for yourself

Isn't it interesting... without religion and belief of creation, there would be no science... God created the Heavens and the Earth, without Him, there would be nothing and no one would exist! There is definite proof of divine creation, and scientists sometimes want to try to explain things in a manner that is more acceptable to man... There are more scientists now that are actually supporting the creation theory... God does exist and has created earth, man, and every thing that is in this universe....
