"red-Sox" has given you very good advise. Never run more than one Antivirus or firewall program at the same time. They will conflictwith each other causing you computer to have a reduced preformance and possibly even Fatal conflicts, commonly known as the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD).
You can run as many antispyware programs as your resources can stand.
I run...
1 antivirus
1 firewall
4 active antispyware
3 manully antispyware
and have 6 online scans softwares all preinstall.
I run a P-III 500Mhx with 512Mb of RAM.
The antivirus software would include the online antivirus like AOL and Yahoo provide. I really find them more trouble than they are worth.
