Ok, not being rude or anything, but I just wanna know! So if you're Jewish and believe in Jesus, do you read the Torah or the Bible? Or both? Don't you think you should be christian?
To your question, well Jesus was sinless so He's bringing His Light to all sinners that they may overcome their sins and obey God!

So does that mean that once he is gone, there is no light in the world?
I dont know the meaning but the world still has light and still lives. It is not because of Jesus because Jesus is not on the earth now or christianity a religion brought about after 200 years of killing Jesus. There are too many atrocities committed by christians.
It is because of the fact that there is still good in the world. There are still people who are honest and kind and not into material wealth and most of them are hindus. You think I am arrogant and unkind.
Try and read about islam - the criminal activity is unbearable.
Try and read about christianity and its ignorance - it is mind boggling.

here`s what it means to me, Jesus who is the way, the life and the truth was by being truly God and truly man utterly sinless, but the world having given itself over to sin could no longer recognize ,that it was in darkness and was spiritually blind.
I am not a bible scholar but isn`t the quote from John about Jesus opening the eyes of a blind man? and although physically restoring the blindmans sight also alluding to the fact that he is the way to overcome the darkness of the human spirit
