In the very short term, Yes it is possible to lose a couple of pounds of fluid weight, NOT fat weight. Laxatives are abused by many anorexics and bulimics for their short term effect. All that will happen is you'll be doubled up in pain, need the loo with embarrassing urgency and then as soon as you eat and drink normally again the weight will come straight back. It's what boxers and jockeys do to get therir weight down for an event, it only works very briefly. Laxative abuse can lead to severe dehydration or worse like internal bleeding. A healthy diet makes more sense ! If you must take them use natural types like senna in small doses.

A daily regiment with laxatives is a good way to totally mess up your body. Your body gets to the point were you can't even go to the bathroom without them. Bad new, bad news. You should only use a laxative when you absolutely need them. Not to lose weight. If you want to lose weight diet and exercise are the safe way to go. Cut back on the carbs in your diet. This means no complex sugars i.e sweets, white breads, soda pop, alcohol. And then exercise like jogging, weight training, walking, aerobics etc. I hope this helps. Please lose weight wisely. Take care.

Sure you do. Take an overdose and you can lose twice the weight.
For goodness sake be a bit more sensible. If you want to lose weight then use a proper and sensible diet. If you want to be ill and maybe die then use the laxatives.
I took a course in Karate. I lost weight - but more importantly I toned up my muscles. Losing weight and looking good are not necessarily the same thing.
Take some exercise - that will help you.

Laxatives should not be used for weight loss purposes as they can cause more harm than good to your body.

you will lose weight but they are extremely hazardous to your health the same as vomiting will prevent weight gain also hazardous to your health (i know vomiting is anorexia bulimia I'm not sure of the medical term for dieting through SH*TING TOO MUCH but im sure there will be one), i suggest if your weight concerns you seek assistance from dietitians and health professionals about exercise regimes, if your concern is for someone else gently persuade them that they need to lose weight in a more sensible healthier way

Only temporarily after you've released your "load". You'll gain it back again after you've had a drink and some food.
