wanted to know wether Tata indica xeta GLS is really worth to purchase when compared to Mauti Wagon R or Huyandai as everyone says that XETA model will have lot of problems and Tata service network is not so powerful like maruthi which can be available in any part of India

Yes, it is. It has much better interiors, better suspension and ride than many larger cars, has a lot of power (as much as the older honda city), and oodles of space. it's service back-up is a relative letdown but expect Tata's to improve on that now that they have many vehicles on the road.
The Santro has the smoothest power delivery and may give you the best driving pleasure in the city unless your roads are bad, in which case it sucks. Right now spare part costs are relatively high too. The WagonR has the best steering response at any speed, but is cramped, underpowered and has flawed highway dynamics. But it is the easiest to park, and comes with Maruti's excellent service back-up.

Friend,

Currently I am also planning to buy a new car, so I have done a considerable research. In the past, Indica cars have problems in Axel, I have seen good number of cars, with broken Axel.(Not Xeta of course) You can go for Maruthi Wagon if you like the looks of the car(personally I didn't like the shape). Anyway Hyundai Santro is unbeatable when compared to Tata Indica.

Definitely Yes.
Indica is a Tata Product. Its been able to hold forte without the huge marketing budget/ discount clouts of Maruti or Hyundai.
Indica has a good service network, with very reasonably priced spares.

Why has wagon r never been a leader in B segment?!!

Hyundai service/ spare costs are very high

Of those which you mentioned. Spark and Santro will equally rate. Not Sure of A-Star - worth to take a look . But not advised to go for Wagon R - Soon they are going to roll from production.

i dont think so cause the xeta is a big hit.it is the only car that gives u performance, mileage, luxury etc.all the answerers are saying that u go for a petrol car like wagon r and satro but xeta is not a deisel car.so there is no prob in buying xeta.go for it !!!

No. santro & wagon-r have petrol engines thus less maintenance, good performance in long run.

hundai is the best one. in many scences, having good engine, good milage on the highway and good body and most likely the good looks and less service is required.
