The ones i have looked at are too advanced for me.

Agreed, computer active is pretty good.

However, maybe you should get two or three, and read them all for a few months. As computing is constantly evolving, and these magazines are always a) looking forward to things that will happen in the future and b) commenting on and reviewing things that have finally happened, picking up a magazine can often feel like joining a conversation halfway through.

As long as you're not imtimidated and turn off your "paying attention" switch, the longer you listen to the conversation, the more sense it will make.

I always found 'ComputerActive' fairly basic. I doubt if you'll find a magazine that's simpler. As so many people are PC literate now, I guess there's less call for basic stuff. You'd have to go for a beginner's book to catch you up to the lowest level of mag.

PC format has a bit of everything for everyone including useful sections for beginnners.games software hardware news tech reviews help sections and loads on a dvd as well

try WEBUSER it was good for me i am still learning too lots of free stuff and not to dear 1.95 also has a help page
