Then, if you like it, you can go ahead and buy it OR you can buy the office 2007 beta for $3 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/default.mspx

However, this trial will expire when vista comes out.

probably illegally possible. OpenOffice is a great alternative to ms office package. u can convert documents in OpenOffice to .doc/.pdf file. u probably know, .doc is ms word documents.

another alternative is google docs & spreadsheets: http://docs.google.com/ . this online application is free to use.

I agree with wbriii13. OpenOffice is a great. It include more than just a word processor (MS Word).
