i would plan you baths for right around the time he is due for another spay. give him a bath and let him dry off really good and then spray him. most sprays will soak from the fur down to the skin and put a 'protective layer' on the skin so when the flea bites it kills him with a small dose of poision. there is obvoisly not enough posion to do any damage to your dog in any way. i would also suggest a flea comb to comb him with to get any eggs out. the brisles of the brush are so close that pleas or eggs can't get thru and it will keep you dog nicely grommed too.

Have you tried reading the packet/bottle? Because the stuff I use are drops you put inbetween the shoulderblades and it imbeds in the skin, but it still says on the packet not to bathe your dog for at least 3-4 days after applying the stuff.
If you can't find anything on the packet or bottle then try calling your vets office, the assistant should be able to advise you on this.

The treatment I use is called Revolution, you get it from the vet and it goes on the back of their neck, it prevents fleas, ticks, and is also their heartworm medicine all in one. The instructions on the box advise to wait at least three days before bathing.
What I would do is bathe your dog, wait a day and then apply the flea spray.
CAUTION-- Do NOT use a flea shampoo in the bath and then use the spray. You can seriously overdose the dog with too much flea medication. This happened with a friend of mine's dog, and he died two days later. :( And, mind you, it was a tiny dog either, he weighed about 120lbs.
Hope this helps, and good luck! :)

Do not bath the dog after applying the spray because it will just wash off. Bathe ur dog before getting your next spray.

Wait about a week or two after you've applied the spray. It needs to work into his skin.

I use flea treatment..not spray on my dogs. It recommends that you keep the dog away from water, (not let it get wet,) for three days after treatment. However, it sounds like your spray treatment is a surface one, so I would go ahead and wash your dog, then treat it again straight after. (I use Frontline, it is usually good for two-three months. And don't be shy about treating your dog for fleas...you are using preventative measures. It's not always convenient to go and get some treatment when you find one of the little blighters...prevention is better than cure.)
If you have used frontline...between the shoulder blades...a liquid stuff...so long as it's more than three days..it will be ok to wash your dog
