I'm thinking about selling some CD-rom's on eBay, with commercial labels that you buy at office supply stores.
What I'm worried about is the labels peeling off, and ruining
someone's CD-Rom drive. Are they safe to use?

the best thing to do is use a printer that is designed for CD, or you can use lightscribe, but usually CD labels is pretty safe

Arctic,

Before you begin to sell the CD-ROM's, are they blank, and you just want to add labels? Or have you recorded anything on them?

If the latter is true, you cannot list them on eBay unless you are the original artist, author, producer, etc., and the copyright belongs to you. Doing so is against eBay policy and violates the rights of the copyright owner if you say recorded a TV show, a movie, downloaded programs, or burned music, etc. that was produced by someone other than you.

BTW...The labels will be OK to use is they are placed on correctly and are smooth to the touch. The CD readers are getting thinner, so you will will have to be especially careful to make sure that they are smooth..

Better to print direct onto the CD.
Need the right printer and media.

How many commercial CDs do you see with stuck on labels?

Get a LightScribe drive... it's the safest and looks great!

But I haven't heard of too many label issues... just make sure you put them on really well if you do decide to go that way.
