I am a physician and fell during a mountain climb and all I can tell you that every part of my body hurt including my hair. Other than drugs, nothing cuts the pain...and strapping is not a good option because of pneumonia. Broken ribs create the most wonderful pain, it is superb! I never have bad headaches,....only great, wonderful headaches that blow through the top of my head...I jest and have sympathy on you...a heating pad helps about 0.00001 %, and common aspirin does about 0.00001 too...but when we got back to our base camp...I gave up and took demerol. And the pain continues for some time...weeks. Codeine is pretty mild but not very effective...I couldn't sit, stand or even get into bed without agony...my patients had to do without me. One of my women patients was sitting in my office and I told her a joke, she burst out laughing, fell off her chair and popped a rib. She still hates me for the pain but we are good friends. Reconsider some pain reliever!

Ouch that hurts!!! I in basic terms had coronary heart surgical operation and that they chop up my chest bone open to get to my coronary heart. i ultimately have first hand wisdom approximately soreness from broken bones interior the chest. I even have been telling human beings for years that their rib fracture will proceed to harm for weeks (approximately 10 weeks often) specially via fact the ribs are in consistent action as you breath/ they're the two increasing or retracting via fact the respiration technique occurs, meaning that the fractured ends of the rib bones are additionally in extremely consistent action. This maintains as your physique is slowly arising a boney callus or "bubble" over the rib fracture internet site. ultimately this callus will stabilize the fracture and the soreness will subside. you would be able to correctly be even able to experience this callus on each rib in case your no longer as obese as i'm. long after the outdoors of the bone is healed from this technique, then the interior the bone ultimately heals too, and this callus would be absorbed into the boney stucture of the rib. this could take some years although. We used to compress the ribs over a fracture with rib belts, yet this prevented deep respiration because it hurts, and could even help surpress coughing or sneezeing that's awfully painful with a rib fracture. while it is achieved it is in basic terms a count of time the place your shallow respiration in basic terms ends up in lung atelectasis, meaning that there are parts of the lung no longer properly areated and subsequently it there's a boost of phlem in that element of the lung it is in basic terms an invitation to a lung an infection. Pneumonia is a perilous difficulty in many constrained scientific eventualities, which could ultimately carry approximately comprehensive blown septic pneumonia or perhaps dying. attempt to maintain this in recommendations and yawn deeply in spite of if slowly as you slowly get properly and return to comprehensive functionality, the greater you tolerate the soreness and artwork out your lungs so as which you will continually pop out of this devoid of any worry of the soreness of moving and respiration will help you stay to tell the story this ordeal with the least achievable issues.
