This is something to discuss with your oncologist. There is not one universal formula for probability of recurrence. Moreover, the psychological issues involved in contemplating cancer recurrence are too complex to be appropriately dealt with through information on Yahoo Answers. I would encourage you to talk with your oncologist about this, and then if you would like, to speak with an oncology social worker or other cancer-survivorship counselor about how to live with the particular stresses of being a survivor. For many people, this time post-treatment is very stressful and challenging, but for most, it gets easier over time. Good luck!

I agree, you need to talk to your doctor, but as I have found, some doctors do not like to give numbers, like my first oncologist. My new one however, understood that I was the type of person who needs to know numbers with the understanding that it is not set in stone. Here's what I learned.
After 3 months of AC chemo, double mastectomy, 25 radiation treatments and 5 years of Tamoxifen, I had a 30% chance of the cancer returning. I had 3 tumors, the largest being 4cm, I was er+ and Her2+. So I did Herceptin and now my chances of the cancer returning at 15%. Better, but still scary.
Good luck to you, if you want numbers from your doctor, push for them. Some people, like me, need to know.

Talk to your Doc. Mine told me before I even did any treatments how the % look with and without the treatments.
It came down to Partial Mastectomy, Chemo , Radiation and Tamoxifen my chance is down to 5%. Believe me, it still worries me because there IS still a chance. Can't let that consume your life though. You will always think about it, freak out if you find something that is unusual but try to live life.

Hi, mine was 7.5cm grade three. Had mastectomy, half my chemo (couldnt cope with it) and 15 x radiotherapy, also some lymph nodes taken.
You can worry till the cows come home hun, just get on with your life and if it comes back, deal with it then. Positive thoughts, do what you want to do and sod everyone else. That's what gets me through it. I have 4 months before i see my oncologist again. I'll deal with it then.
Keep your chin up.

Snowbaal has it spot on. You really need to be discussing this with your oncologist. He knows you, your condition, and your physiology and can provide the best answer for you. There is no standard formulaic answer to your question and so any answer given over Yahoo Answers is likely to be an inappropriate answer for you .

Depends if you drink Diet Croak or anything else sweetened with Aspartame.
Use that stuff and I don't rate your chances.
Check out what happened to Dr Janet Hull in the link below.
