I do not think anyone can, it is thru the spirit of god , that is where miracles, happen, I had gone to there church three times, they visited many times, I gave them gifts and money, but when I mentioned miracles, they got up and called me crazy and left, whats with those people. I am glad I didnt get babtised into that church.has anyone else had experiances like I had.in jacksonville florida, recently?or anywhere. is this a common practice.to denie the spirit of gods miracles. to denie the spirit is the only unpardonable sin.

You are positive they were missionaries? Let me also say this, we believe the "spirit of God" is a gift every person on earth has. But, it is different than the gift of the Holy Ghost and also different than the power of the Priesthood.
I do not know what happened or what was said...so I can't really say what or why they did what they did...don't be offended though. Sometimes some of us members can be over-zealous and not in a good way...
We believe in the power of the Priesthood, we believe that is the literal power of God on earth. No one can hold that power unless they have been ordained or "given" that power by someone else who holds it, which are members of the LDS church.
That does not mean great spritual things cannot happen to those who do not hold it, but you have to realize to us, if the Priesthood isn't present or being used in the "miracle" it isn't the same meaning to us. It could have been coincidence...or...it could have been another spirit, if you know what I mean. Satan has powers too...
Anyways, I am not saying that is what happened here, just try to understand where they were coming from.
Hopefully that came out right...

I do believe that there is the power to do this. I am a Mormon and I have seen it worked in many lives. Typically a healing is done through the power of the Melchezedic priesthood, which is ordained upon a man through that same priesthood. Having the faith to work miracles is a gift of the spirit which is noted in several areas of the scriptures, best known from Doctrine and Covenants section 46. Faith is the power of all things, but in order to heal by faith the recipient must also have the faith in Christ to be healed through faith. Check up on the church again. Remember, the church is perfect, the people in it are not though they are striving to become so. Also, I suggest you read "Lectures on Faith" by Joseph Smith. It describes what is possible to accomplish through faith. Again I say, most things like that are done by the priesthood members through the power of the priesthood. That was probably the reason the missionaries had difficulty believing. Remember the New Testament stories of those who didn't have Christ lay His hands on them and yet they were healed.

All religions have been made up by somebody. And Mormons do indeed, believe in and follow the KJV Bible.
I don't believe that you were told by a Mormon that only priests can perform miracles, since priests in the Mormon church are 16 year old boys.
Either you misunderstood them or you are making this up to stir people up.
Attempting to disprove one religion doesn't make yours any truer.
I am not a Mormon but I have studied a number of religions, as some of the answerers on here should before they spout their nonsense answers.
Peace

I'm glad that miracles have happened in your life, yes we do believe in in the power of the spirit of God. It is completely possible that you healed your family members by laying your hands on them. While healing those who are sick is a Priesthood ordiance, once in a while God grants someone the right to heal their loved ones due to their faith alone.

The unpardonable sin is more then just denying the miracles of the Spirit of God. I don't have time to go into details.

I am a mormon-you did not receive his teaching well. Yes God is foremost in ourlives. I am truly sorry of your experience. Elders or missionary are not allowed to take gifts or money-money if you wish is given at church. Would they call you crazy NO. Not being present at the conversation-we only have your side, I would contact the Utah base and explain your experience, which will be corrected. The church I promise will correct any errors made, and throughly investigate any and all concerns of conduct and teachings. Yes we strongly believe in Gods blessing hand and devine intervention. So would you be considered crazy NO. As stated not knowing the entire context of the event-I can only give this short statement-yet I offer you to contact the UTAH base and explain the situation in its entirety. If your unable to contact the Main Base-please feel free to contact any local church-they will assist you in questions and correcting any errors made or misunderstandings. What gifts? What money? Did you give or were you asked for it?
Missionaries receive no income-they must save to do missionary work. Church leaders are not paid to do Gods work. They must have gainful employment to support themselves and their families. Gifts are generally not asked for or easily taken for the same reason mentioned here---money is not asked for---if you donate that is your own decision. Again-the full context of the event needs to be understood.
Yes as stated-God will bless with devine intervention- if you have layed hands and the person healed it was not you it still was God-who used you as a vessel. Yet-according to our belief one must be annointed into priesthood-and only certain levels of priesthood have the annointing as per the Bible, to intercede on our behalf in certain situations. Again-I am not upset-I read a great mis-understanding there-and a tone a anger which is very normal. Again-allow us to counsel you and correct any mis-understandings.

No I don't think that they believe that. They believe that their church elders have the power of laying on of the hands but I do think that they believe in the power of miracles. I've got a lot of Mormon friends and I've heard stories of miracles that have happened just from the power of prayer.

They do believe in the power of God. They also believe that they hold the power to act in his Name, They believe that they are the only ones that have that power.. They mistakenly say that that power is called the priesthood. They don't look at what the priesthood was for (only to offer sacrifice to God). You and I both know that thur the grace of God miracles are done all over the world every day. Unexpected healings, a pregnancy when medical science says that it was impossible, children safely gilded across dangerous streets to return to their parents arms. Thousands of different thing millions of times, things that just shouldn't happen that do. No priesthood involved just God and His grace poured out among us.... Jim

They, (the Mormons) are the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. That means they made up their own way of believing and they chucked the original bible to the curb. So they basically make up their own religion.
