Yes they do, just like a human. Also a menstrual flow. They have pads for this at the vets or pet store. This is when you dog will be in "heat" and when she Will be able to get pregnant. This goes on for 3 weeks so you have to be careful of other males dogs. It usually happens every six months. So have fun and be careful. If you don't want this problem, get her fixed.

The cycle dogs experience is called the estrous cycle. When they are ready to be bred, it is called estrus. Some blood may be present shortly after this time (during metestrus).

Humans experience the mestrual cycle. During menses is when blood is noted, and that is not the fertile period. So while blood can be noted with both cycles, I would not consider dogs to have a period (at least, not in the same terms as a human).

Dogs do not have periods per se. They go into heat and unlike humans, this is when they can be bred. They usually go into heat about twice a year (although I think some breeds are different). The heat period lasts about 3 weeks. The first week is the heavy bleeding, and the next week is when they usually can be bred.

Yes, but they go into heat 2 times a year and it last for my female about 3 weeks each time. This is when you have to be very careful with her because she will get pregnant during this time if you're not careful and keep unneutered males away from her.
