it is dangerous and foolish ground to take Scripture out of context, distorting and adding our own understanding instead of allowing God's Holy Spirit understanding. Use 20/20 vision, read 20 verses before and 20 verses after to better understand His Word-- 1Timothy 5:23 - "no longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomachs sake and your frequent infirmities"
Timothy was young and had a nervous stomach, in this letter Paul was instructing Timothy to be strong in his faith and a little wine would help his nervous stomach.

Well, you have to take some things into consideration. I tell people the same thing when they quote the scriptures that say men shouldn't shave and women shouldn't dress like men. Times were different back then. There was no indoor plumbing or water treatment systems. In those days, wine was the drink of choice. The water was filled with so much bacteria - they just scooped it out of a well or a river, and who knows how many people and animals had been in the water and what they left behind.
This could also be a roundabout spiritual reference. During the Last Supper, Christ compared his glass of wine to his blood, and he asked his followers to drink of it as a way of showing that they have taken him into their hearts. Perhaps Timothy is saying the same things - that we should turn to Christ when we are sick.

First you don't have the correct interpretation of the scriptures, That scripture was put there for only ONE purpose, The Apostles & other Christians back inJesus time & right after his death, those Christians travel a lot around the middle east, therefore when they travel they encounter different kinds of food that their stomach was not adapted to, there forth instead of drinking water to soothe their stomach they was allow to take a little wine to settle their stomach, that wine act as a anti-botic for their stomach, But we also have to see, that it says A LITTLE WINE, They did not drink wine in abundance & get drunk, so if your doctor say drink more water, then drink it.

1. Timothy wrote an Epistle; not one of the Gospel accounts.
2. Read it in the original Greek. Read it in the cultural context. Where Timothy was writing, water was polluted. He cautions them to not drink only water, but also drink some fresh wine (grape juice, unpolluted).

If you pay attention to the falicies of these religious books, then you will probably die quite horribly. drink water like the doctor tells you. When this scripture was written (by a man, and not God), water was not purified as it is today. It had many disases and bacterium in it so wine was safer to drink, or as 1800's sailors did, they would drink grog, which is 1 part rum, 2 parts water, with lemon or lime juice to prevent scurvy. the rum killed the bacteria in the drinking water. Try that, then try water and tell me which one you perfer.

Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
Your version is a little off there.

A small amount of wine is very good for your arteries. But everything in moderation. On the other hand, the body needs water. Remember that scripture was written several thousand years ago. Don't deprive your body of the essentials it nees to function properly. Drink water. And praise God for a healthy body.

i dont know if you are serious or not
but water is very important to our bodies
it replaces the water we give out daily through our pores
without replacing that it can be very dangerous
drinking wine is ok now and then .. but the acid in wine definately wont do your stomach any favours
ask yourself
do you trust an age old scripture or a medical proffesional who has seen the damage it can do if you dont drink enough water ?

Are you serious? Think for a second. You body is made up of how much water??? Yeah a very good percentage. This verse is not to be taken literally. You need to read all of the script, not just a sentence and go from there.
