hey everyone hope your night is going good... just a quicky... i have 4 adult chickens and i am thinking of adding 2 baby chickens to the coop.... will the adults attack or neglect the babys?? and will the adults still lay eggs??? thanx :)

1. will not effect egg production
2. it is a real possibly that the adult hens will peck and injure the chicks

Introduce them to the coop, watch them, if the hens start pecking the chicks remove them and try again in about 4 weeks after the chicks are larger.

The adults will probably attack them. Keep them in a separate caged up areal. The adults will still lay eggs.

mostly, chicken are not aggrasive. one thing u have to sure, in 6 chicken, if male is more than 1, they will fight each other.
