It is almost always the head gaskets. If not that then, a crack in the block.

I can't believe the mechanic replaced a head gasket and reinstalled the head without magnafluxing it first! With that demonstration of professionalism, I would tend to believe the whole job is bungled! I don't work on Fords but on Chevy's there are many things a mechanic needs to know when performing this repair. Each engine model has its own little quirks that you need to know or you aren't going to have success! Some engines require special sealants on various if not all head bolts. Others have different characteristics that if left undone, you are going to have problems!
My suggestion would be a good Ford mechanic with a reputation or the Ford garage! Some of these "cheap" back yard mechanics are exactly that! You get what you pay for so now you get to do it over! But I would definitely take his *** to court!!!

I have never heard of a 4.6L V8 with a cracked block before, although anything is possible. I've heard of heads being replaced on these engines, but not bottom ends. What was the method used to check the heads? Is it water, or coolant? Those engines were not known for the concern you describe.

Behind the timing cover in the front of the engine, there are freeze plugs, that sometime leak. Remove the timing cover without letting out the water and look good, there are 4 freeze plugs there.

cracked block from overheating. clean out the coolant system with JOY dishwasher fluid and then add some block sealant product and trade it to a dealer for a new truck before it leaks again.
OR get a new short block and install it.

Have the engine/cylinder head checked again for any leakage. There's a special tool that can pinpoint where the leak is.

COMMON PROBLEM THE BLOCK GETS WARPED RIGHT BY THE OIL PASSAGE IF YOU USE COPPER COAT IT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM
