that Christians happily stole pretty much all the Pagan holidays, changed their names and gave them new meanings (you have Easter, Christmas etc etc). Yet they feel that Samhain (Halloween), a time to remeber the loved ones that have passed is Satanic somehow.
Samhain is Pagan in origin, Christianity is the only religion to believe in Satan so it cannot possibly be Satanic!!!

Kids dressing up is Halloween, not part of Samhain celebrations that I know of... but it sure is fun for kids!
And who said anything about how Christians feel, its factual history that holidays celebrated by Pagans were 'adopted' by the church!

The church spread rapidly in areas of the world where paganism was very strong and many of the people still wanted to participate in the holidays so the early Church father that that making the days a time to make special remembrance of a christian event the best way to handle it.. We aren't saved by holidays anyway but by faith in out Lord holidays make for difference so no big deal.. You can have then back if you want.. As to Satan Judaism also believes he is a force.. Jim

I'm not really sure and I am also puzzled by it. I am a Christian and If I bring up Halloween my questions get deleted (Real Questions) and my brothers and sisters at church get all bent out of shape. Well I guess we can't do Easter Bunny's or eggs or a may pole. Wait till we find out where they come from. Or even a Christmas tree or fire in the fire place. Lord have mercy on us when we discover their roots. Now that said. I am really a Christian and I really have a close relationship with Jesus. I even asked him if I could write this. Is that not like us saying that we can not be Christians because today's church has its roots in torture and murder and destruction of Jerusalem and the inquisition? The KKK claims Christ does that mean we are racist in the name of Jesus? That's just silly. If people enjoy Halloween and any other holiday GOD bless them.

May GOD richly bless you.

Not all Christians observe the pagan holidays. The worshipers of the Sun god (Baal), but now so called Christians are those who have chosen to bring pagan festivals into the religion of JEHOVAH.

Praise be to Him there is still a remnant of God.

Re 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Re 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Satan has origins in many religions, not just christianity.
About the first point, i agree, Christianity stole almost every Pagan Holiday.
Although i would choose Christianity over Paganism.

Saran was on the earth before the Christian's the Jews believe there is a Satan The Hebrews believe they were here before the Jew's and they believe is name was Lucifer the Fallen Angels WHO pride caused his fall he was the one to commit the original sin and Adam and eve they believed he was real to well you might not believe there is a devil but he believes in you and hes greatest trick is to convince people he doesn't exist i guess he is fooling a lot of people.
I don't believe bunnies lay eggs and hide the Easter should be known as Resurrection day for that is what it is and by people celebrating rabbits and eggs was a way of Satan trying to steal the meaning of that day because a lot of people do not know that Easter was the Resurrection of Christ and more stealing Christmas doesn't have anything to do with a big man with white hair and a beard dressed in a red suit called Satan Claws it is the day of Christ birth i am going to stop there Christians did not steal these things you say THY SHALT NOT STEAL but let me say may you always be blessed

I know it's ridiculous!
Click on my avatar and check the last 3 questions I asked, they are very similar: All about Christians who label anything new and unknown as "satanic".
Even though Halloween is centuries old people only started celebrating it on such a large scale in the last 50 odd years.
To most Christians this is new and foreign and of course they immediately label it as "satanic", even though it has nothing to do with the devil at all.

If it's any comfort to you, I'd happily give all of them back to you. (;p)
Except Thanksgiving---oops, that one's not Pagan.

Christmas has become more of a traditional celebration rather than a religious one. Don't get me wrong, I love christmas carrols and giving presents and getting together with family, but it has become largely irrelevant to me as regards my faith. I figure, if I don't love God and celebrate what Jesus is to me, all of the other days of the year, what good is christmas going to do me. I guess it did have more significance when my children were young, because it was a good time to teach about the birth of Christ. But our popular culture has changed so much, that christmas is very little about Christ. So instead, I celebrate the Father and his Gift, daily. And I don't celebrate on Easter at all....I avoid church on that day if I can....Too much hype.

Hoping the best for you...

That's ok, most Christians don't know anything about the true rites of the Last Supper. They think religion has something to do with eating ham on a Sunday in March or April, but never realize Jesus would never eat a bit of anything from a pig.

It is not really the case that Christianity "stole" anything. They decided to take those unholy days and turn them into something good in response to Paganism and for all intense and purposes, IT WORKED! I grew up in a society that celebrated these holidays in the context of Jesus' birth and resurrection.
