Istanbul Province is a province located in north-west Turkey.
Its area is 5110 km2, population 10,018,735 (2000 census). It is surrounded by the provinces of Tekirdağ to the west, and Kocaeli to the east, the Black Sea to the north, and the Sea of Marmara to the south. The Bosphorus (Boğaziçi) Strait divides the province in two parts, one in Asia, and one in Europe.
Its capital is the city of Istanbul.

historically known in English as Constantinople,is Turkey's most populous city, and its cultural and economic centre.it has a natural harbor known as the Golden Horn . It has also been nicknamed "The City on Seven Hills" because the historic peninsula (the oldest part of the city) was built on seven hills, also represented with seven mosques, one at the top of each hill.When the Republic of Turkey was founded in 1923, the capital was moved from Istanbul to Ankara. u can find many info related to it on google.
