I saw on Japanese TV the other day that they were popping wild rice! And they were so excited -- "Look! The world's smallest popcorn!"

Lots of other grains pop to an extent. Puffed wheat and puffed rice are basically modified pop"corn".

Genmai-cha is a mixture of tea and popped brown rice, and it's really tasty and mild.

Hope that helps.

That day we used buy pop corn they are very small, if I am correct they used to made with corn called Jonnalu (It's Telugu word, I am not sure what you call that in English). They are very small compare than ordinary corn.
