June/July in Italy is very hot so be ready for this as for driving if you have never driven in Italy then you are in for a big surprise All Italian drivers of either sex want to be first so when someone flashed you it means move out of the way. Also you can turn on a red light if you are turning right remember what side of the road you are on! Rome and Naples can be a nightmare. so I would get the train to naples then go to capri come back and then drive back up. The autostrada [M-ways] are good but expensive so A roads are better get a good map as the road signs coming of the Motorways can be very confusing something like 50 signs on one pole and you have two seconds to make up your mind parking is easy in the towns and some cities you have 60 mins parking time. If you have time Venice is mind blowing if you can try the train into venice wonderful.
