Let me be the third volunteer!

I speak fluent German (I grew up in Germany) and depending on how much time would be involved, I might very well be able to help you. Via e-mail or messenger, you can find my contacts under my profile.

I'm surprised and impressed that someone would take it upon themselves to learn a language as difficult as German without schooling or other professional help.
Matter of fact, I find it almost impossible to succeed in teaching yourself German, but maybe you can and will proof me wrong.

The German language is rated a 3 difficulty level, on a scale from 1-5, the highest number being the most difficult one. Here are some of the reasons why:

The Phonemes (sounds) of the Umlaut vowels (example: ü) and the three different 'ch' pronnounciations (examples: Achtung, Geschichte) are difficult to learn and comprehent.

The syntax (word arrangements in a phrase) is rather tricky to learn, with the verb, verbs or verb parts at the end of the sentence, some weak grammatical cases and a very rigid phrase structure.

The vocabulary and the logic behind word formation, especially for small words, is not easy to grasp, and the meaning of the small word parts can escape you for years.

I estimate that it would take a good 2 years to master the German language.

By no means do I want to discourage you though, stick with your plan and take advantage of the people that have offered you their help in their answers.

i d be glad to help u if u want, u can ask questions and start writing sentences or small texts and i can answer and correct them for u, but i think it would be better if u could find someone in your area that u can talk with, hearing and speaking the language is the fastest way to go.

"so ein Mist!" "so eine Unverschaemtheit!" or like dogtags says: Was für ein...? (ein ought to agree in gender and grammatical case, founded at the position of the noun within the sentence): ...Was für einen Tisch suchen Sie? ...Was für eine Dame ist sie? ...Was für ein wunderschönes Haus! zirp · four weeks in the past
