Jesus has a good sense of humor.

We often make fun of things we're not comfortable with. Religion is a big one. Consider for a moment, there is some heavy duty stuff going on there. Can we all really be as 'good' as we should be. It's tough. Laughing at it lightens it up. But don't be too quick to condemn every joke. Some are obviously tasteless, ignore those, but some others bring it down to a level some people can deal with and truly any level of religion in a person's life is better than none at all. And remember, if they're joking about it at least they're giving it some thought. Not a bad thing really.

Stop picking on the Christians. They feel the way they do because they have been told that God is a judgmental punishing Jerk. Just because they have been mislead into believing this nonsense is no reason to be making fun of them. Remember most of them were told this as little children when they were to young to be able to look at this from a logical basis and see it for the nonsense that it is.

We need to do what we can to make them realize that God loves each and every one of us or we would not be here.

You can’t help them by being nasty and making fun of what they believe in. The best we can do is try to lead them to the truth by example. If they see us responding lovingly to situations where they have been trained to attack or be defensive, hopefully they will notice and start to understand the True meaning of the message Jesus left for us.

Rather than the judgmental message their religion teaches.

We need to remember what Jesus said. Judge not, love our enemies, Turn the other cheek, and love our neighbors as our selves. Remember Christians are our neighbors too. We need to love them as Brother Jesus asks us to do.

Love and blessings Don

it's just like anything else in this world. Chinese can heckle their own in a deragatory manner, Blacks can call each other names and make fun of their race that if a White did it it would be a serious issue. It happens in all races, ethnicities, religions, and genders. Why do women get to say, "this dress makes me look fat" but if her husband says it, he better watch out.
I never thought I "made fun" of my own religion though. But now that I look at myself I guess as a Christian, yeah I do. Things others say I take offense to but I might say something similar and don't think twice about it. mmmm...thanks for pointing that out!
I'm not condoning this joking around but I know it happens and I don't think it'll ever stop. Everyone does it about something they have unique to themselves.

Loving humor is okay, but not disrespectful humor.

I would not demean my husband with humor, my children or my parents either .... nor will I disrepect my King.

Having said that, if a joke is funny in a way that even Jesus would laugh (He was human too, remember) then I have no problem with that.

It is never right. A true Christian wouldn't consider Jesus a joke.

Only the lonely and lost make fun of Jesus.
If a person jumped in front of a gun and took
a bullet for you, would you respect him or
would you laugh and poke fun of him?
It's the same thing.

I have seen some christians making fun of muslims and insulting them too, along with putting down other religions. I guess when you're superior, you can do those sorts of things.

I don't make fun of being a Christian, as a matter of fact, I'm proud to be a Christian. No offense, but your spelling is bad.
