This increase in blood levels of uric acid can lead to gout. You will notice that the knuckle of your big toe will get red, swollen and painful as the uric acid crystalizes in the joint. There are medications used for treatment, but the best thing for you to do is avoid foods high in nitrates like preserved meats. Check the labels on foods before buying or eating them.

Do Detoxification with Lactose S and Take Spirulina (100% alkanline organic seaweed) which will neutralise your acidic body.
An Acidic body results from the consumption of too much meat, carbohydrate food like rice, bread. Thus, it will cause accumulation of excess fat, detorioration of the body's metabolism, increase blood acidity.. In long time to come, it will results in uric acid from your drainage system.
U need to look for alkanline food, take more egg white, fruits, vegtable, milk and seaweed. The best way is to take spirulina to supplement the 46 essential nutrients including the 8 amino acids(which your body cannot make), 18 types of vitamins (Vitamin A, B1,B2, B6 and B12, C, D,E, etc), 20 types of minerals.
Please take note that you need to have all these 46 vitamins to present in full, when u take health supplements. If not, it will not be complete. Just like vitamin C, needs vitamin A and E so that your body can absorb well.
Don't take any synthetic or multivitamins. Because they are chemically combined and inorganic.
If u want to know more about Spirulina, you can email me at jaslinlee@yahoo.com
I will help to answer your enquiries and give you more tips on taking care of your body.

Yukari

Unfortunately, the dietary advice your doctor gave you is the best way and only way to continue to reduce the level and keep the levels low. Uric acid is produced by the body during the breakdown of body cells, which releases purines. Purines are the building blocks of DNA and RNA, and are found in all living cells- not just humans. These purines combine with oxygen, nitrogen and other chemicals of the body to form uric acid, which is then filtered out of the blood by the kidneys. If there is too much purine in the system, too much uric acid forms, faster than the kidneys are able to filter it all out. The uric acid then is able to form chrystals which can accumulate in the joints, causing gout. Untreated gout can lead to kidney damage and failure. So although your test is still in the normal range, it is high normal and indicates you are at risk for developing other problems. There are several other factors which affect your risk for developing high uric acid levels, diet being only one. Other factors are being male and a genetic predisposition for producing higher amounts, and there are some diseases and medications which cause the levels to rise as well. I assume your doctor eliminated a disease or medication cause, and is treating the only other factor left.
Purines are either produced by the body or ingested(eaten). Since you obviously can't do anything about what your body produces, the only other thing you can do is limit the amount you eat.
Foods that are high in purines include:
Organ meats, such as liver, brain, kidney and sweetbreads
Anchovies
Herring
Mackerel
Dried beans and peas
Smaller amounts of purines are found in all meats, fish and poultry. For this reason, limit animal protein in your diet to no more than 5 to 6 ounces of lean meat, poultry or fish a day. Some additional dietary considerations include:
Avoid alcohol or drink it in moderation. Drinking too much alcohol increases the risk because it interferes with the removal of uric acid from the body. Drink plenty of fluids. Fluids can help remove uric acid from the body.
Things to add to the diet - Whole grains, vegetables and fruits. Beneficial fruits in particular that should be added to one's diet may include black cherries, purple grapes, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.
Other things you can do to help- Maintain a healthy weight. Excess weight puts more stress on your joints and increases the risk of elevated uric acid levels and gout. Lose weight if you're overweight. But avoid fasting or rapid-weight-loss diets because they can increase uric acid levels in the blood. Also, avoid low-carbohydrate diets that are high in protein and fat, which can increase elevated levels of uric acid even more.
If you are interested in other things you could consider doing to avoid problems in the future, you can do a search for diets and supplements recommended to treat gout. That is one of the major problems you are trying to avoid, and following the advice these sites offer can help you.
You are still in the normal range, so it may be that some moderate changes in lifestyle and diet will give you relief and prevent a great deal of trouble, without being a major inconvenience to you. Good luck, and stay healthy.
