i was out last night with my sister and a man offered to buy me a drink...i politely said no thank you...five minutes later he appears again with a shot glass of something for me...again i told him that i had said no and meant it...i told him i didnt want the drink and that he could take it away with him...he got really hot under the collar all in my face nasty, called me a b*tch and stormed out of the pub...i didnt even know him...do people like this not realise that when you say no it means no!!! I wonder if he really didnt get it or did he just totally ignore what i said??? Why cant people accept what they hear? what do you think?

Angle_of_...i would just like to say that English pubs are not all sleazy for hooking up...same as anything else there are nice local pubs and cheesy hook up pubs...we were in a busy local pub...dont judge everything by your own standards!!! we have some very nive respectable pubs here!

The bloke was a wanker anyhow it's nice to be back and i missed you.Good job you didn't take his drink your hangover might be worse.I on the other hand would always respect a ladies wish and saying No should mean just that.

The reason is probably that ... although you said no and meant it .. he may have previously encountered women who were just playing (the game) a little hard to get ... who didn't mean it and gave in after a while.

Or maybe he was just an *** ...happens ...

some women are consistent and mean no when they say it... and some men are NOT over-persistent ****holes who can't take no for an answer ... without getting abusive... gl next time u go out ;-)

Some men think with their cocks and assume all women want F.U.C.King. Saying no to a man like that is like saying "I wana be a tease!" They don't see women as people, just a hole to conquer. He was probably not used to talking to a woman with a brain. He sounds like a bully who would treat men badly too. You'll be glad to know that there are decent men out there. Don't take it personally as he probably moved on to the next pub and got what he wanted without giving you a second thought. On the other hand, he could have just been very drunk and woke up this morning feeling mortified and thinking "OMG!!! I can't believe I did that to that poor girl." Either way, I'd forget him.

quite rightly decline the offer. if they come back with a drink then call the bouncer over. i'm a big burly labourer and i've had billy no mates try and force a drink on me to be friendly and looking a chat. i say no! thank you and move away. if it happens again get the bar staff to sort it out.

Some feel that you are being coy and hard to get and playing a flirting game. To add to the concerns, even if you spell it out for them, they may choose to ignore the signs and bull on ahead

If there was loud music playing then there was every possiblity that he didn't hear you. shaking your head is the clearest way to say no.

Saying that, you were right to refuse the drink after he brought it to you.

Yes I have family like that. Sometimes I think I am speaking a foreign language, when I say yes/no it means yes/no.

He had probably had one too many himself and would not be hearing or thinking rationally.
Not everyone would behave in this way. Thank God he left....sounds like a nut.

I think he has serious issues with regard to respecting women, I hope he is not in a relationship with someone-he sounds abusive.

he wanted in and you said no, then he was upset about wasting $2.50 on a bourbon so he went home to cry.

Bars and nightclubs are sleazy places where people get drunk and try to hook up, what do you expect?

Sounds like his reaction was a bit over the top though, maybe it was his last $2.50
