Usually dogs stop growing/putting on weight at 12- 18 months. He will be a BIG BEAR then I suppose ? as long as he is not going to be exercising his muscle by jumping at people and by pulling too much when on the lead I suppose he is going to be absolutely fine.... DO take him to puppy classes, because a dog of that size out of control could be a potential nightmare!!!!
I speak from experience, having been bitten badly by such a "BIG BEAR" without provocation too !!!! This dog has known me for some years and has played with ours in the past.........Good Luck !!!

Larger breeds usually reach their full growth at about 2 years. Most of the growth occurs in the first year, but they can and do grow a bit more during the second year of life but because it's usually a small amount, it's not always noticable.

I have 2 dog's Jamba is a 4 Golden Retriever and weight around and half stone, Harley is an 8 month old cross Rottweiler with a German Short haired Pointer, and he is huge, he is far bigger than Jamba, taller, longer, stockier and weighs around 8 stone now, so Harley is going to be a giant too, but he is a gentle giant, I Have owned 2 German Shepherds b4 and both were very big dogs, but once they got to around a year old they stopped putting the weight on and just broadened out, they weighed around 8 stone, I very much doubt that yours will get to 10 stone, but if it does then it will be well over weight and will need to lose some of the weight for its health. but what ever happens, he is going to be a very big dog, that's nice, I love big dog's, he will bring you many hours of happiness, all my dogs over the years have done, my 2 dogs now are fabulous, I love them to bits.

I haven't had experience with shepherds, but I know that my Rottweiler is still building muscle mass at five years old, and that he looks completely different than he did when he was three. He doesn't have an ounce of fat on him, either!

If my conversions are correct, mine would be a little over 9 stone. (130 lbs.)

Good luck with your monster... they're a lot of fun! :)

That's a preety good sized dog. They usually stop growing at 4-6 yr. old, depending on what you feed him.You should try and feed him regular dog food on a daily basis (healthy dog foods),give him at least 1-2 eggs a week (only the yolks, not cooked, and the eggs help his fur stay strong and healthy),and be sure to bathe him at least twice a month.

I am not quite sure of how big a stone is, but I will say that my dog is 3 and she is STILL getting bigger. Not taller, just stronger and stockier. I am 5"4' and if she stands on her hind legs, she can look me in the eye. Strong as a damn ox too.

HOW MUCH IS A STONE COMPARED TO A LB? I'M IN THE US.
IF 10 STONE IS THE SAME AS 100 LBS THATS NOT SO MUCH IF YOU ARE THE LEADER IN THE HOME. IF YOUR NOT, YOU COULD BE IN TROUBLE. I HAVE 4 DOGS. 3 ARE OVER 100 LBS AND 1 OF THEM IS STILL GROWING, BUT I'M IN CHARGE. THEY DO AS THEY'RE TOLD, WHEN THEY'RE TOLD TO DO IT. OTHERWISE THEY GET TIME OUTS. IF THEY SHOW ANY SIGNS OF AGGRESSION, THEY GET ROLLED ONTO THEIR BACKS AND HELD UNTIL THEY RELAX.
