Unfortunately, a lot of it is male chauvinism. I don't feel it will change much. That is life.

Men do not want to have more serious relationships with women who do this, however. Although, women feel the same toward men. Surely you can understand this part. I do feel that women look down on men who have a lot of one night stands as well.

For anyone (women as well as men) who sleeps around like this though, they need to listen. Sleeping around like this is far more dangerous than it ever has been. You can get a disease which can end up taking your life, and cause you pain and much suffering for years and years. And often protection doesn't work!

That would be my biggest concern of all.

Well its all down to the "game". Men are always trying to get with women 24/7 since the dawn of man. We are the hunters and we are the ones which look for mates. Women have ultimate control over who she's to mate with or not and in today's society, women are the key holders to relationships. I believe women are viewed as being "slutty", "easy" by having one night stands because they're suppose to play the "game" and make men work for it. If there's a woman out there who just gave up and gives herself freely, then its "bad". Its ironic because men want these kinds of women. Why do you think that a man would not want his girlfriend to be wild (most of the time), but thinks about screwing other women? that's just the way it is.

Something most women avoided like the plauge, because they could never settle down with only one woman, and always had to have a 'stable' of women at hand.

Because of the double standards of society, for some reason it is ok for a man to sow his wild oats but a woman is worthless if she does it.

I think it has to do with us being the "mothers" of the planet. Somehow we are expected to be above sexual needs and be more pure.

This is an old stigma that's starting to repeal itself with more modern conceptions today. With the advent of women "going out" they've become more open to ideas and society is slowly accepting them in a more open manner.
