my husband calls people that who hides there faces when they are out in public, any idea where it comes from.

the phantom flan flinger used to be a masked up loon on tiswas on Saturday morning telly, dressed in black with a black hood covering his face and chucking custard pies about (i recently heard it was Jim Davidson)

kids show in the early 80's with chris tarrant and sally...somethig or other. anarchic is too polite.. it was fantastic. messy, and unscripted mayhem.. much much better than the polished shows like swapshop on the BBC.
