You 're my friend. Amiga is feminine and amigo is masculine so you have to keep your eye on gender. The other question: Do you want to be my friend. Commonly amigos is used in a general sense: Tengo muchos amigos. I have many friends. But there is a whole issue with gender. amigos/amigas.

Amigo is for male and Amiga is for female, but if you are refering to a group of people of both sexes you say amigos
