A great hymn.
Verse two says -
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.
Any comments ? Do you know of a better hymn (in your view) ? What is it ?

I agree serah s, many of the older hymns have more depth. I like some of the newer songs , too. "Guide me O Thou Great Jehovah (Redeemer) is another good old hymn. "I am weak but thou art mighty, hold me in thy powerful hand" (I think).

Rock of Ages is a beautiful hymn. I love Alas Did My Savior Bleed and It Is Well With My Soul. Victory In Jesus is my favorite upbeat hymn. I cannot sing it without getting excited.

It surely is a great hymn,there are so many more too. A couple of my "older" favourites are - In heavenly Love abiding and Here is Love, vast as the Ocean, and among the hundreds of new songs there are many gems too, Shalom

very nice I think most of the older hymns have more depth than the newer ones. ''Guide me o thou great Jehova, pilgrim through this barren land'' is one of many I love
