The charisma and speed of Bruce Lee beggars description. I want to know who can fill the void left by Lee?

Actually, no one, he was the first man that showed ''secrets'' of martial arts to the rest of the world and because of that he will always be the greatest!!!!

No one can replace Bruce Lee. He has changed American martial arts & captured our imagination. Jackie Chan put humor in martial arts films. Jet Li makes great movies but I think Chan would beat him.

Steven Seagal & Chuck Norris are amazing but I believe both would be beaten by Ultimate fighters. Ultimate Fighting is today's preeminant martial art. The FBI says 80% + of fights end up on the ground.

Bruce Lee once broke a 200lb heavy bag with one kick. Yes he was fast but his movies were filmed "speeded up." Lee will always be fondly remembered for his two finger pushups, his one inch punch (Wing Chun) his legendary yells and his adaptability.

Personally, I think the only one who stood a chance of matching Bruce Lee was his son, Brandon.

Jet Li is good, but there is just something lacking in comparison. Look at his remake of Chinese Connection.... "Fists of Legend", I think is the name. He attempts his own form of Jeet Kune Do and looks very stiff.

Jackie Chan doesn't even attempt to follow the image Bruce Lee left behind. (Which is one reason I like his movies.)

Some of Chuck Norris movies are good, but he's a whole different personality. Bruce as an actor and as a martial artist still comes off much more relaxed, natural and convincing.

There are a few legends of today, but none of them were half the man Bruce Lee was.

Jackie Chan is one of my heroes; highly creative, great bloke, fluid and powerful in his different styles of fighting.
Jet Li: His movements are graceful and fierce. He's up there.
Chuck Norris: Victim of the acclaimed jokes from everywhere. He got his *** kicked by Bruce Lee in one of the movies. Enter the Dragon I think.

Seriously though, I don't think there will ever be someone to match Bruce Lee.

No one can fill it. Bruce Lee didn't use wires to do his martial arts. The stuff right now is more of the fantasy/legend martial arts. Jackie Chan is acrobatic, but not a "great" martial arts master.

Bruce Lee discovered Tai chi from his father, wing chun From Yip guy, and later created Jeet kune do. He studied factors of many kinds to benefit his own martial arts comprehend-how.

As far as theatrically there is Jackie Chan, and more recently Jet Li and Chow Yun Fat. As far as his contribution to the martial arts themselves....that remains to be seen....I don't know of any one that has had the kind of impact on the martial arts that he did among those outside of the community...most people probably couldn't even tell you what particular martial arts styles Jackie Chan, Jet Li, or Chow Yun Fat studied.

I actually like Jet Li. He has that cool and calm look. I also like Stevan Segal for similar reasons but Segal has that attitude which he carries across all his movies. Bruce Lee seems to me to look like he is constipated in his movies - maybe that is why he looks so intense.
