Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

This is sweet but I see no contradiction between this and religion. You know what the problem with religion is? People use it as facade to cover up other purposes and dirty hidden agenda because religion is so sacred and no one would object if you say I am doing this for the sake of religion.

You dream of peace, love, hope, brotherhood, unity, sharing, no hunger, no killing, no possessions, no greed, no jealousy. Believe it or not, this is what religion is about!! It is us who are corrupt.

This is exactly how early muslims lived for ages before we start drifting away from religion and using it for our own intentions. I am sure this was pretty much the case with other religions because religions are supreme and noble and essence and are meant to make people's lives better.

May Allah have mercy on us all
Peace

John Lennon had a downside that people fail to recognize. He wrongly divorced his first wife causing pain to her and their son. A recent Newsweek article said it was Yoko Ono, Lennon's second wife, who really was the cause of the Beatles breakup.

Lennon had a serious drug problem too, and lived a hedonistic lifestyle as many of the jet set do. He took many youth down this path, bringing pain and death too many.

Was he a musical genius? I doubt it. I still listen once in awhile but not like in my youth when I listened whenever I could high on drugs. I gave up the drugs and picked up a Bible instead.

I do identify strongly with the above lyrics except the parts about no heaven and no religion that suggest there is no God or need of Him. I'm a Christian communist and believe only God can save us from the serious mess the world's in today.

When Christ returns, I believe He'll set up God's Kingdom on earth and those in it will practice a communal way of life - where all property is shared - like the early church in Acts 2:44, 45; 4: 32-35 lived. See http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts%202:44-45;%204:32-35;&version=31; However, a religion that involves teaching the children God's Commandments and Christ's teachings in the right way and on a regular basis will be absolutely necessary to make such a communal society work.

The whole moral of King Arthur: The imaginary lines upon the Earth's surface needed only to be unimagined.

I prefer The Once and Future King to a song, myself. Anyone else read it?

John was a highly evolved spirit, who saw a vision of humanity that unfortunately the majority of people in the world are still too afraid to even consider.

Loveliest song ever,

Echo the words by 'Tripwire'
"John was a highly evolved spirit, who saw a vision of humanity that unfortunately the majority of people in the world are still too afraid to even consider." .

He asks us just to imagine.

It's a nice way to live, imagining what we want to believe is true, but the real truth would still be real, whether we like it or not. I met with Jesus and heaven is very real.
