Mohammad (Peace be upon him) was son of Abdullah. He was just like human being but at the age of 40 years, Allah bestowed upon him prophetship to guide muslim all over the world. Arbs were very backward people, they slained their daughters on birth. They were very bad people . In order to put the muslim on right path, God made Mohammad His Prophet who served and met onjectives in true sense of the word.

they followed the truth!!!!!
all the prophets of Allah wether it be Adam noah Abraham moses jesus or Muhammad (peace be upon all of them) followed the truth!!!
n the companions of the prophets ... Wether it be Abu BAkr, umar, usman Ali, talha , hamza , abbas etc for Muhammad or Barnabas etc for Jesus.. also followed the truth !!!!
its the search for truth n then after findin the truth .. to remain steadfast on it.. that makes them such great ppl.....
they all found Allah as the one n only God n then devoted their lives in the way of God!!!!!!!
may Allah give us the best in both the worlds n protect us from the Hellfire. AMEEN:)

Probably because they followed their Gods word and commands and were true to their religion! It happens in all religions, we always consider people who follow Gods word as elite!
