I have recently had my teeth whitened and can't drink vodka and (diet) coke anymore and tired of baileys a long time ago - have moved on to gin and tonic but would like something else to try - preferably low calorie, cool and not too expensive - what would the men like to see a girl drinking?

The most trendy drink, especially for a woman dressed for success is most definitely the martini. I am not talking one of those fruity mixed drinks in a martini glass (Apple martini, chocolate martini, pineapple martini, etc.). I am talking about a good old fashioned dirty martini. If you already like gin, this should be an easy one too. Get a "dry martini up". If you like olives a lot, get it dirty or extra dirty. It will be strong, but is one of my favorite drinks. I prefer the vodka variation, which is a little crisper and less intense than the gin. I would say go with a Cosmo or a Manhattan, but if you cannot drink dark drinks those are both out (dark liquors). A martini can be very inexpensive from a place that has them on special. Most moderately price bars you can get a well one for $5. A good liquor martini can get expensive, but I think it is worth it. From a really trendy bar, any drink is expensive... and the martini is no exception.

BTW, don't listen to the negative people before. There is nothing wrong with trying to draw some positive attention to yourself. No one is saying you want to marry a guy just because he likes what you drink, but it is a nice ice breaker. Just do not conform your habbits to what you think others want to see, be yourself. And a professional looking woman drinking a martini and looking like they have the world in their pocket displays an air of confidence that is very attractive.

If you're worried about your teeth, don't drink anything carbonated. Tonic water may be clear, but it's acidic and destroys tooth enamel. In fact, in England, where gin and tonic is most popular, many people (especially those who have had their teeth brightened) have resorted to drinking through straws.

If you choose not to drink your cocktail through a straw, which is the method of choice for people who have had their teeth brightened, and you have a bit of a sweet tooth, as well as being a vodka drinker. Although not very sweet, white (dry) vermouth has a sweet-ish kick. A vodka martini with lemon zest instead of the olive will not discolor your teeth, and you may actually like it.

Otherwise, use the straw. It's really not uncool. Trust me!

A pint of real ale! Tastes delicious and is so trendy that it doesn't even look trendy! Nowhere near as expensive as those tiny little coctail drinks, but may not be very low in calories. The men that I know (including the man I'm about to marry) don't care about what a woman drinks, they're more interested in whether she's fun to go out with, which means relax and stop worrying about such tiny details!

have you thought about water, soda or lemonade? Guys might be impressed at the thought of a cheap round and the will power to avoid alcohol.

joking aside, there are many clear drinks and clear mixers.. work your way through them and work out what you like instead of asking what you SHOULD drink.

Look for ideas here - drinks are nicely categorised and should make your search easier

In the mean time try white wine and tonic.. low calory and very clear.

There are not too many alcoholic drinks that are low calorie. Alot of women like to drink a Cosmopolitan. If you are looking to keep your teeth white, Vodka and water will be very clear. Tequila Rose on ice is also a favorite. There are so many, but I can't think of too many that you are looking for. Most of the women here in Montana drink Bud Light or Whiskey. I use to be a Bartender, but quit after giving my life to God.

This has to be the most shallow question I've ever read. Guys in a bar aren't looking at what you're drinking, they don't care. They are thinking of getting in your pants and nothing more.

Now on YOUR end, it's retarded to drink ANYTHING because it's "cool" (what exactly does that mean?). You drink stuff that tastes good, duh.

If someone told you Immodium was the cool thing to drink at a bar, are you going to be ditzy enough to start drinking it?!

Geez people! Please don't breed!

Do you want a man who judges you by what you drink? Stick with something you like girl! I usually drink water, doesn't stain my teeth, doesn't get me drunk and usually doesn't cost much (free where I come from). You can ask the bartender to put it in an fancy glass :)

Most men don't give a damn what you're drinking as long as it gets you drunk enough to lose your inhibitions. I'm curious as to what profession you're in to be so worried about what someone thinks of you or cares what you'd be drinking.

Tired of Baileys? Spice it up with a Sambucca!

Just ask for a "Slippery Nipple".

It not only tastes great but looks good too.
