Um, when you're married and trying to have kids (and have been tested for AIDS and other various STDs)...Otherwise, there is NO safe time to have sex without any protection. You are always at risk. Often, people can have STDs without even knowing - so even if they're honest, they can't tell you what you don't know. So always, always use protection...

How about a quarter till never? Even if I told you when the safest time was to NOT get pregnant, there would still be the risks of STD's, not to mention just because it's the safest time to not get pregnant, doesn't mean you WON"T get pregnant. If you are wanting to have sex without protection, wait till you are married and make sure you have your partner tested for STD's and that you are ready to have a baby.

there is no safest time to have sex with no protection. Only if you are taking a contraception that is 100% effective. Which would be the implanon inplant which you have in your arm for 3 years.

Assuming your goal is to not get pregnant, get a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. She has a chapter or two on avoiding pregnancy. It'll require a lot of work (temperature charting, etc) and it's not foolproof at all.

Of course, if this is a new partner whose medical status you don't know, I totally agree with the others who suggest getting tested.

Good luck!

it is not safe EVER unless you intend to get pregnant. there are tons of myths on when it is safe, but it isn't. even if you escape pregnancy you cant see disease, and people do not carry neon signs saying i have an std. always wear a condom. if you find it takes away the pleasure, your not doing it right.
