Does it bother you when you let someone go in traffic and they don't wave thank you?

Sometimes it does but most of the time it doesn't. Most people think that they just have the right of way, like they're a special class. Though I do make sure that I wave thank you or speak in silence "thank you" back to the driver who let me in, it's only proper.

Some people do not realize you are doing anything special.

Others just don't notice you. Others are afraid the wave may be interpreted as "flirting".

Others just do not react fast enough for you to see them wave.

Some of us are not sure what is the proper response.

It does bother me when someone does not acknowledge that I let them go ahead of me, but I am guilty of that also, so I try not to take it personally.

Some of us are more verbal, we shout "Thank you" then realize you can not hear us.

I don't read hand signals or use hand signals well.

However, if I am guilty of not waving to you; I'm sorry.

Funny thats a pet peave of mine. People are so rude anymore. I'm a truck driver and when you give the truck passing you lights to let them know it's ok to come back over in front of you the customary "Flash" of the taillites is the same as the wave but so many drivers dont do it anymore. How INCONSIDERATE!!!

I noticed the same thing......Just within the last year. It is infurriating. Drivers are becoming ruder. I've also noticed that when I drive up to a 4-way stop, and need to turn left--if there is a female that stops after me--she will go straight ahead in front of me. If I were a slow driver, or took my time, then I might understand. Next time the b****es will be reported!

Jaded, yep-- i'm a casualty of the California throughway gadget. Now I stay in a smaller city and this would properly be a sparkling phenomenon for me. there are such loads of rude drivers those days that I attempt to no longer enable them to in to my information and concentration on the type drivers who seem to additionally relish even the slightest courtesy.

It doesn't really bother me. I don't expect much from people when driving, especially male drivers. I do often let people in or let people turn in front of me, and sometimes they do wave a thanks but I don't let it get to me if they don't. There are better things to worry about, I suppose.

I always wave thanks, somebody threw me a favor, it's the least I can do, I always return the favor as well, we should all try this, and maybe the ride to work wouldn't be SUCH HELL in the morning, I think it's because, we're all always late but, you're right, an acknowledgment that you cut them some slack, would be nice

It all depends in which country you are in. In certain places people are very polite and care to say thank you which often makes people smile.

People are too engrossed with their cell phones and iPods to acknowledge anyone else on the road.

I always do, and I always let others in.

Seems like people just are not very courteous, or just don't
think. Perhaps in a hurry just to get were they are going!

Glad to know 'we' do!
