I can't find a big enough umbrella and we all get soaked and then they dry themselves on the furniture. I'm not upset about the furniture because they are most important but it would be great to devise a way to keep us all dry. Thanks!

Walmart carries little doggie raincoats and little doggie booties.
You will pay about $10 each for the raincoats and $10 each for a set of four booties.

I use raincoats on my dogs, but my hubby drew the line at booties for my chi (to left in parka). However, an alternative is keeping a towel handy to dry their paws, and the coats will keep them mostly dry otherwise.

You can also get these items at Target and pet stores, but they will cost more. ALso available on ebay at varying costs.

Well i would say that it depends on how long it rains, as 1 or 2 days without a walk would be ok. If you have the room in your house or an undercover area that would be great to just run them around a bit or altervatively play games with them involving alot of movement. Other than a raincoat for yourself and an umbrella with you carrying the dogs (defeating the purpose of a walk) would be the only way i can think to keep dry. The dogs will benefit from extra attention to replace the walk to be honest, in the short term.

There are rain coats out there for dogs but i have never tried to but one on my dog before so i don't know if it works or not. But if they get wet and they are not scared of a hair dryer try using it to dry them of with and then your furniture won't get wet from them.

Obviously American versions of the British Yorkshire Terrier are more whimpish than their counterparts on the other side of the Atlantic! My British mother-in-law has two Yorkies who go out in all weathers, sun, rain, snow, ice - yet still enjoy their walks despite the conditions. They are, like the inhabitants of the area from which they take their name, tough little blighters. As long as you keep yourself dry, don't worry too much about the dogs - just allow them a little free space indoors on returning home in which to dry out and they'll be all right.
Dogs in rain coats? Heavens, you'll be wanting central heating in your house next!!

You might also consider a doggie umbrella if your pooches don't like to wear clothing.
