Nero Vivo for classy italian food, La Fite for classy french. Other than that, you can try Cafe Cafe, Chynna, Ma Maison or Le Bouchon.

Piccolo Mondo along Star Hill is a good choice.
Another would be, Avanti Italian American Ristorante is located within Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel & is known for its 'singing chefs & waiters' for a more pleasurable dining experience.
As for French cuisine, the only one that comes to mind is actually DeliFrance, lol.
I know, I know they're not a legitimately GOOD French restaurant... but that's the best I can come up with, lol *sorry*

Depends what u mean by best. Is it good price? high-class environment? But here's some suggestion.
OPUS BISTRO
67, Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar
Slightly pricey. But nice ambience and great food. Service is also not too bad.
PICOLO MONDO
Midvalley or next to Planet Hollywood in Bukit Bintang.
They've got some nice pizzas.
SOULED OUT
Hartamas.
Yep. They do serve some good italian food over there. Reasonably priced too.
No suggestions on frech food.

You can try La Bodega, i know there is a branch at Changkat Bukit Bintang, and another one in Bangsar.
The comment was quite good bout their food. Don't worry about how the french/italian food taste, as i believe whatever food we hv in here should hv been "asianised" to local taste bud.

Sorry, I dont know about the restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, but I have to advice you that do not try any french meal.
