Gandhi ji originally name it as passive resistance. Subsequently renamed it as satya agraha. (desire for truth). In any case resisting the opponent by peaceful non violent ways became styagraha. Today Munnabhai has renamed it again as gandhigiri in the language of Taporis.

Gandhigiri is a term popularised by the recent Hindi movie- Lage Raho Munnabhai.
It is an equivalent contemporary term to "Gandhism" or "Gandhiwaad".
It parodies the word "dadagiri" which means the ways and means of a goon.
Gandhigiri teaches
- to give flowers to the enemy
- to wipe the pan-stains on the wall by yourself.
- don't be violent.
"Bole toh aisa kaam karo ke dushman sharma ke paaon mein gir pade."
